WHO – World Health Organization has characterized Covid-19 as a pandemic. Most of the countries have shut down the events of the big gathering, restricted travelling and suspension of classes in schools and began online teaching – Not sure how long this will go on for, but prevention is key. I believe this is happening because of the way we have been treating the planet & all life on earth is no longer sustainable. We need to wake up and really watch how we are behaving – this is a wake-up call.
An interesting video I came across on Covid-19 by Alanna Shaikh, where she addresses the critical issue of Covid-19 and proposes a framework to ease the issue, “the real way for the long haul to make outbreaks less serious is to build the global health system to support core healthcare functions in every country in the world” this will result in even the undeveloped countries to easily confront and treat infectious diseases.
I saw a post earlier by The Globe and Mail, where “African countries move to restrict European visitors amid coronavirus pandemic” I smirked and thought, it’s crazy to think how the tables have turned.
Moreover, a couple of things Covid-19 has proven:
– The jobs you were told couldn’t be done remotely can be done remotely.
– Internet is a utility, not a luxury
– Universal healthcare is necessary
– Not to ever look down on people who flee from war and famine
